Mile ? - 145
Found this bad boy while adding bonus miles in the middle of the Gila forest. Since the new CDT trail isn't finished, it became my job to find a way into town. I followed a dried out river bed that took me out of the national forest and onto some cattle land. Before I trompsed by, this tree was home to a few cows catching some shade. Skittish creatures, we exchanged glances before they leeringly lumbered off. They sure did pick a fine tree, this thing had been thrown around a few times — been knocked down, but it got up again.
I also came across this abandoned mine.
I took a look inside and found a shelf full of old mechanical binders.
Found this beautiful cover. I've concluded that hunks of junk were built better back in the day.
I started my morning by realizing that my glasses had fallen out of my bag the night before. I back tracked a couple miles to where I remember taking by bag off. I was so lucky to have find them, almost camouflaged among the rocks and rubble. These are my adventure glasses. They have been through a lot — seen many miles, I wasn't about to walk off without them.
